KP Astrology — Core Concepts
Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP) is a precise, sub-lord-based system of prediction developed by Prof. K.S. Krishnamurti (1908–1972). It retains the Vimsottari dasha and Vedic chart structure but replaces sign-based interpretation with a three-tier stellar system: Sign → Star (Nakshatra) → Sub.
The result is a system capable of delivering binary yes/no answers to specific questions with verifiable timing — qualities that have made KP one of the most practised predictive frameworks in modern Jyotish.
Core Concepts
Stellar Theory
FoundationThe bedrock of KP: how the Sign → Star → Sub three-tier hierarchy replaces sign-based analysis. Includes the nakshatra lord table and star-sub-sub structure.
Sub Lord Theory
CoreThe single most important KP contribution. The sub lord at any zodiacal point is the final judge: it grants or denies results. Covers cusp sub lords and sub divisions.
Ruling Planets
Key ToolAt any moment, five planets rule the sky. These Ruling Planets validate horary charts, select the correct dasha period, and confirm birth time rectifications.
Significators
CoreHow to find all planets that signify a house through five categories — from strongest (planets in the star of occupants) to weakest (conjunct/aspecting planets).
Promise in the Chart
AnalysisBefore asking "when" an event will happen, KP requires confirming "whether" it is promised. The cusp sub lord test determines if the house will deliver results.
Dasha–Bhukti System
TimingVimsottari dasha in KP context: the dasha lord is an agent of its star lord. All three lords (dasha, bhukti, antara) must be significators for an event to fructify.
KP Horary (Prashna)
PracticeAnswer specific questions without a birth chart. The querent selects a number 1–249, which maps to an Ascendant degree. The sub lord hierarchy gives a precise yes/no answer.
Birth Time Rectification
PracticeCorrect an uncertain birth time using life events (cusp sub lord test) and the Ruling Planets at birth. A scientifically grounded KP approach to a perennial problem.
