The 27 Nakshatras and Their Lords

The zodiac (360°) is divided into 27 equal nakshatras (lunar mansions) of 13°20' each. The nakshatras repeat in the same Vimsottari planet sequence — Ketu, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury — cycling three times to cover all 27.

In KP, the star lord of a planet or a house cusp defines the subject matter being signified. The sign lord is secondary; the star lord is primary.

Key Rule

A planet in a certain nakshatra acts as an agent of its star lord. It carries and delivers the agenda of the star lord's house significations. Therefore, to understand what a planet will give, first identify its star lord and then examine the star lord's house cuspal ownership and tenancy.
