Grahas (Planets)

In Vedic astrology, Grahas (เค—เฅเคฐเคน) or planets are celestial bodies that influence human life and events on Earth. The term "graha" literally means "to seize or grasp" in Sanskrit, indicating their power to influence or "grasp" human affairs.

Unlike Western astrology which primarily focuses on the physical planets of our solar system, Vedic astrology includes two mathematical points - Rahu and Ketu (the north and south lunar nodes) - as planets. These nine celestial entities are known as the Navagrahas (nine planets).
